According to an announcement on thier website, Thomson Corporation is willing to sell "Prometric" to be a stand-alone business.

Although they have done well in the stock market, Promteric is to be sold because "it was determined that Prometric's business model is sufficiently different from the rest of Thomson Learning and that Prometric and its clients would be better served if it were sold independently of the rest of the Thomson Learning business, and become an independent stand-alone business." as announced by Thomson.

If sold to the right people, Promteric might witness a big change in the overall policy in a way that it provides better offers and discounts as a part of the new marketing strategy to be adopted. Prometric, few months ago, started a program for TOEFL (Test Of English as a Foriegn Language) internet-based testing program. Although it is still in Beta, the Internet-Based Testing for the english language is getting well-known all over the Non-English countries.

However, it will still depend on who is going to buy Prometric to expect what will happen next. We all hope for sure that it gets better and better for the certification seekers.
